Almost immediately, I turned Sid Redburn into Uncle Sam. Customizable Squad & Equipment Prepare your troops to face tough enemies, upgrading their skills and outfitting them with loot collected in challenging missions. Gears Tactics is the fast-paced, turn-based strategy game from one of the most-acclaimed video game franchises Gears of War. Perhaps best of all, however, is the cosmetics selection. I personally enjoyed building up Cole Train as a beefy tank and Mikayla as a critical hit-machine, for example. Gears Tactics is a great Gears game and a great tactics game. Not only can you change and customize your gear (pun intended). You can build each of your units to be adaptable and well-rounded or have them specialize. Tons of customization Fast-paced, energetic combat. An unexpected surprise was how much customization Gears Tactics allows for your squad. ![]() The selection of weapon mods and armor perks brought me the experience I just about expected. The customization of our troops, the combats versus de final bosses and the aggressiveness of the enemies are the three elements that makes differences. I found the amount of skill-tree variety to be just right – nothing overly complex nor dumbed-down. There are five classes, each featuring four branches of subclasses. The equipment menus could’ve been redesigned for more convenient loadout swaps, sure, but the high volume of tweakables was pleasantly surprising.Ĭlass customization is satisfactory. Messing around with customization between missions sucked up way too much of my time – and that’s not particularly a bad thing. Gears Tactics weapon customization is surprisingly deep for a Gears game, allowing you to swap scopes, clips, stocks, and a range of other weapon parts to gain all sorts of passive and active.
